Edward G. Lewis is an international consultant, educator, executive coach, and public speaker. He has been actively involved in strategic management, information technology, and strategic planning issues for over thirty years. Mr. Lewis has provided strategic consulting services and educational seminars for many Fortune 1000 companies, as well as small companies, plus many large organizations in other countries.

Mr. Lewis has held various senior management positions. In 2001, President Bush appointed Mr. Lewis to a four-year term as a Member of the Board of Directors for the National Veterans Business Development Corporation. Mr. Lewis served as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee for this Board.

Since 1992, Mr. Lewis has presented over 230 seminars and workshops on change management & organizational transformation, global value chain management, e-business, enterprise architecture, business process management & reengineering, customer relationship management, knowledge management, and strategic use of information technology, as well as numerous workshops and seminars on various information resources and information systems project management topics. He has also presented tutorials and individual sessions on these subjects at many conferences.

Mr. Lewis began his management consulting career in 1992 when he founded Ted Lewis & Associates in Colorado. Subsequently, in 1997, he started the Enterprise Transformation Group, Ltd. to provide strategic consulting services and educational seminars to private, public and government organizations in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Canada, Mexico, and the United States on an ongoing basis.

In 1989, Mr. Lewis was appointed by President Bush to the sub-cabinet position of Assistant Secretary for Information Resources Management in the U.S. government. As the first Chief Information Officer within the Federal Government, he was responsible for overseeing a large information technology environment, including over 4,300 IT employees, a $600 million IT budget, four large data processing centers, and all major information technology projects. This technology environment consisted of multi-vendor, multi-product hardware (IBM, DEC, Amdahl, Honeywell, WANG, Apple, Oracle) and software, plus a dynamic telecommunications infrastructure (WANs, LANs, voice, video).

Mr. Lewis served in the U.S. Marine Corps as an infantry officer from 1967 to 1988, including a combat tour in Vietnam, plus assignments in Virginia, Washington, D.C., North Carolina, California, Okinawa, Germany, and in the Mediterranean area.

Mr. Lewis has taught over 900 graduate and undergraduate courses in change management, global value chain management, business strategy, strategic planning, business plan, public policy, e-business, business process management & reengineering, entrepreneurship, enterprise architecture, knowledge management, human resource management, general management and information technology at the University of Colorado and the University of Denver. He also taught for the University of California at Berkeley and Georgetown University. He previously taught at the U.S. Naval Academy.

Mr. Lewis has graduate degrees in Engineering Mechanics (Columbia University), Business (University of Maryland), and Government (Georgetown University), as well as doctoral graduate studies in Strategic Management and Strategic Planning (The George Washington University), and an undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering (U.S. Naval Academy).
